Hi! We are Jim and Heather, owners of 2 Mac's Ranch. We’re childhood friends who lived separate lives for over two decades before finding our way back to each other — and to a shared calling. That calling wasn’t just farming. It was the desire to raise truly nourishing food with our own hands and to share it with the people around us.
We are a small Veteran owned Regenerative ranch in Winnsboro Texas. We want whatever we do to be the most beneficial way possible. We rotationally graze our cattle and sheep with daily moves to fresh grass, supplementing with high quality hay and alfalfa in winter, as well as free choice minerals for the healthiest cattle and to benefit our soil. We offer natural alternatives for their health like antibacterial herbs and natural dewormers like Pumpkins, and never give our animals hormones.
Our chickens, both for meat and eggs, are raised out on pasture in mobile coops that we move daily for fresh forage and to protect from predators. They get all the benefits of living outside, which greatly increases the vitamins, mineral and Omega 3 fatty acid profile when compared to conventionally raised meats.
We offer our Grass-fed and Grass-finished beef and lamb, as well as pasture raised chicken, pork and eggs. Our Murray Grey cattle are known for their high tenderness genetics, similar to Wagyu, raised on grass alone. Our St. Croix/Katahdin sheep are very hardy, naturally worm resistant and bred specifically for the best tasting lamb.
We hope you love our ranch and the products we sell as much as we do. Thank you for coming along on our journey and supporting your local small family farmers.

Our first taste of farm life began in a small adobe home on 3½ acres in the ski country of Northern New Mexico. There, with hair sheep, an Angus steer, 21 laying hens, and a 12 x 40 hoop house bursting with produce, we learned something important: food raised with intention tastes different. It feels different. And it connects you to the land — and to one another — in a way that store shelves never can.
Jim’s work as a flight nurse took us across several states and seasons of life. But no matter where we lived, we missed the rhythm of farm days, the responsibility of caring for animals well, and the deep satisfaction of putting wholesome food on the table. We realized it wasn’t just a hobby — it was part of who we are.
So we came home to Texas. While Heather had spent years in West Texas, we chose the lush Piney Woods of Northeast Texas because it allows us to farm the way we believe is best — with healthy pastures, rotational grazing, and room for animals to thrive naturally.
Out here, tending the land and caring for animals has deepened more than our skill — it has deepened our faith. There is something profoundly humbling about stewarding what God has created. Watching the sun rise over pasture, moving cattle to fresh grass, gathering eggs at dusk — these quiet, steady moments draw us closer to Him.
We’re reminded often of this truth:
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1

Every early morning, every fence repaired, every pasture moved, and every animal tended represents more than hard work. It represents our commitment to steward the land well and provide nutrient-dense, humanely raised food for families who care about what they’re feeding their own — whether you’re cooking for two or feeding a table full.
That desire to share what we raise led to the creation of The Milk Barn at 2 Mac’s Ranch — our on-farm store, open 7 days a week for your convenience. The Milk Barn is more than a farm store. It’s a welcoming place for everyone. A place where neighbors gather, where conversations happen across counters, and where good food is available to families from all walks of life.
We believe wholesome food shouldn’t feel exclusive. It should feel like home.
When you walk through our doors, whether you’re young or seasoned, feeding a big family or just yourself, we want you to feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Because at the end of the day, this ranch isn’t just about livestock or pasture management. It’s about people.
We don’t just want to grow food.
We want to restore connection — between people and their farmers, between families and their meals, and between our community and the land that sustains us — all while honoring the One who made it possible.
As we continue to grow and expand, our greatest joy is sharing the fruits of this labor with you. When you bring 2 Mac’s Ranch food to your table or visit The Milk Barn, you’re not just making a purchase — you’re becoming part of a story rooted in stewardship, gratitude, and community.
We believe that great food brings people together.
